"With Honors" is the fifth episode of the 4th season of 7th Heaven. On its original airing, this episode scored 7.81 million viewers.

Synopsis[]

Mary and her basketball teammate, Corey Conway are selected for a prestigious basketball "All Sports Award" but the award is taken away from Corey when the school finds out that Corey has a 4-year-old daughter. On the home front, tensions build after Eric and Annie find out that Simon's friend Lee is in possession of marijuana. Matt gets in trouble for breaking the honor code during an exam. Lucy questions herself whether she should help a boy she likes to access the school's computer system when she's working in the attendance office.

Notes[]

  • John Hamilton (played by Chaz Lamar Shepherd) does not appear in this episode.
  • This episode received a PRISM Commendation which is a form of a plaque given for accurate information and depictions of drugs, alcohol, and mental health in entertainment programming.

Trivia[]

  • Alicia Leigh Willis' real life parents play her parents in this episode.
  • This episode has a official novelization book based on it. The book is called "7th Heaven: The Perfect Plan" by Amanda Christie.

Goofs & Errors[]

  • This episode features several continuity errors. For example, Corey Conway mentions that she was never able to have friends over to her house because she was hiding the fact that she had a daughter, but in the previous season's episode "Let's Talk About Sex," Mary goes to a co-ed sleepover at Corey's house. Additionally, in the episode "Saturday," it is said that Mary is the only freshman on the varsity team; however, Corey Conway is also on the team and is therefore should not be a senior as implied in this episode.
  • Notice the scene where Lee accidentally drops his backpack in the Camdens' kitchen and a bag of marijuana falls out. You can tell that the actor playing Lee drops the backpack on purpose. He just kind of lingers for a second and lets it slide down his arm before letting it fall to the ground. The camera has a full, close-up shot of Lee the whole time, so it's very obvious.
